Script Converter is a Google Labs product that allows the user to read a web page in a script of their choice. For example if the user can understand spoken Tamil but cannot read the script, they will be able to view Tamil web pages in English (Roman) script. We do not translate any content - we transform the words on the page to its phonetic equivalent in the desired script. We also support the conversion from non-Unicode encodings to Unicode, so that users can view pages without installing the custom font otherwise needed. Users will still need Unicode fonts. Scalr is a fully redundant, self-curing and self-scaling hosting environment utilizing Amazon's EC2. It allows you to create server farms through a web-based interface using prebuilt AMI's for load balancers (pound or nginx), app servers (apache, others), databases (mysql master-slave, others), and a generic AMI to build on top of. The health of the farm is continuously monitored and maintained. When the Load Average on a type of node goes above a configurable threshold a new node is inserted into the farm to spread the load and the cluster is reconfigured. When a node crashes a new machine of that type is inserted into the farm to replace it. 4 AMI's are provided for load balancers, mysql databases, application servers, and a generic base image to customize. Scalr allows you to further customize each image, bundle the image and use that for future nodes that are inserted into the farm. You can make changes to one machine and use that for a specific type of node. New machines of this type will be brought online to meet current levels and the old machines are terminated one by one. The project is still very young, but we're hoping that by open sourcing it the AWS development community can turn this into a robust hosting platform and give users an alternative to the current fee based services available.

Google vient de nous livrer une nouveauté sur Google Tableur qui va faire parler d'elle. Partons d'un exemple. Vous voulez faire une enquete auprès de dizaines ou centaine de personnes. Pour cela, vous allez créer des formulaires de réponses, et les leur envoyer par mail, puis, vous n'aurez plus qu'à traiter les informations reçues. C'est là que la nouveauté intervient. En fait Google Tableur vous propose de créer des formulaires, de les envoyer à qui vous voulez ( donc pas besoin que les gens aient un compte Google Documents puisqu'il ne s'agit pas là de partager un document ), les gens peuvent directement répondre dans leur mail ou en cliquant sur un lien qui ouvre une petite fenetre puis, tous les résultats obtenus au fur et à mesure des réponses vont venir se mettrent sous forme de tableau dans Google Tableur et ceci automatiquement. Donc les données seront traités de façon automatique, il ne restera plus qu'à tirer les conclusions, créer les graphes, etc .... Vraiment génial.
