Existe una variedad de paquetes de software de proxy para Linux. Algunos son a nivel de aplicación (como SQUID) y otros son a nivel de sesión (como SOCKS). Squid es un proxy a nivel de aplicación para HTTP, HTTPS y FTP. También puede ejecutar peticiones DNS bastate más rápido de lo que puede hacerlo la mayoría del software cliente. SQUID es ideal para acelerar el acceso a www, y para controlar el acceso a sitios web (utilizando paquetes como squidGuard).

Squid est un serveur Proxy/cache qui supporte les protocoles HTTP, FTP et SSL. Un proxy est un mandataire. Lorsque votre passerelle fait proxy, cela signifie que ses clients ne se connectent pas directement à Internet, mais demande au proxy de télécharger pour eux les pages dont ils ont besoin. Ce didacticiel n'a pas vraiment pour but l'installation d'un proxy transparent, mais plutôt la configuration d'un proxy avec blacklist et restriction d'accès par ip. Pour être efficace, en plus de Squid vous devez également installer Squidguard comme indiqué ICI.

Ce document me sert de mémo pour installer Squid et SquidGuard sur une Debian Testing. Je le diffuse en espérant qu’il puisse servir à d’autres personnes.

Virus Security In SafeSquid SafeSquid has built-in connectivity to various daemon based anti virus software like ClamAV, Sophos, Avast, F-Prot, NOD32 and Kaspersky. It also has a universal ICAP (Internet Content Adaptation Protocol) client that can be used to connect to ICAP based security software like Dr.Web ICAP, Kaspersky Antivirus for Proxy Server, Trend Micro InterScan Web Security and Symantec Scan Engine. You can even use multiple anti virus software with SafeSquid to simultaneously scan in-coming content. This does not cause any significant latency, since SafeSquid has a multi-threaded architecture.

Dans cet article, nous allons étudier la mise en place d’un proxy http antivirus : HAVP (http://www.server-side.de). Chacune des pages web demandées par un client est analysée par un antivirus. Pound is a reverse-proxy load balancing server. It accepts requests from HTTP / HTTPS clients and distributes them to one or more Web servers. The HTTPS requests are decrypted and passed to the back-ends as plain HTTP. It will act as: a) Server load balancer b) Reverse proxy server c) Apache reverse proxy etc d) It can detects when a backend server fails or recovers, and bases its load balancing decisions on this information: if a backend server fails, it will not receive requests until it recovers e) It can decrypts https requests to http ones f) Rejects incorrect requests h) It can be used in a chroot environment (security feature)

What if I'm behind a proxy? The Subversion client can go through a proxy, if you configure it to do so. First, edit your "servers" configuration file to indicate which proxy to use. The files location depends on your operating system. On Linux or Unix it is located in the directory "~/.subversion". On Windows it is in "%APPDATA%Subversion". (Try "echo %APPDATA%", note this is a hidden directory.)
