IT plays starring role at CineGlobe Film Festival | iSGTW

Last month, the Tribeca Film Institute (TFI) organized a hackathon at CERN as part of the CineGlobe International Film Festival. The event saw filmmakers, artists, and storytellers descend upon Geneva, Switzerland, but also computer programmers, web developers, and videogame designers. The 42 participants from across the globe worked day and night to produce a range of exciting media works. Each team contained at least one member who could code and these skills were put to use to create games, apps, and other interactive experiences.

FKDL Metro Monde opening « Since - Upian - Artspace

Self taught artist, Frank Duval, aka FKDL, is an adept of collage in all its forms since 1997 : art scotch, paintings, murals, street art… In 2006, he creates a family of 20 black voluptuous silhouettes on the walls of Paris, before taking them to New-York, Berlin, London, Barcelona, Turin… Once they’re adorned with bits from vintage magazines, his figures, with their characteristic colored backgrounds and their happy body language, make FKDL a unique signature in the universe of street art.

Le Monde.fr : L'univers fascinant et déroutant des fictions interactives

L'un des grands gagnants de cette 6e édition est sans conteste l'étonnant Thanatorama (prix art-graphisme et grand prix 2007), réalisé par les créatifs de la société Upian spécialisée dans les conseils en communication interactive et en création de contenus numériques artistiques. Cette aventure "dont vous êtes le héros mort" est un voyage ô combien morbide mais non dénué d'humour noir dans les coulisses de la mort.

Le grand gagnant de cette sixième édition est sans conteste la société de production Upian.com. Le web-documentaire Thanatorama (www.thanatorama.com) remporte le trophée de la catégorie Art Graphisme ainsi que le Grand Prix du jury. Le site primé entraîne le visiteur dans une plongée réaliste, photos et commentaires à l'appui, dans un au-delà terrestre - que se passera-t-il pour vous après votre mort, depuis le jour J jusqu'au cimetière. Faute de média ou d'éditeur intéressé par cette recherche journalistique, le Web a accueilli avec succès le projet.
