Microsoft a décidé de faciliter l'utilisation de son service avec une fonction baptisée Skype Meet Now. Ainsi, il est désormais possible de lancer des conversations audio et vidéo avec Skype sans inscription ni installation, avec juste un navigateur Web comme Edge ou Chrome. Il suffit pour ce faire d'aller sur la page spéciale, de générer un lien et de l'envoyer par mail à un ou plusieurs correspondants pour créer et rejoindre une "conférence" vidéo, y compris avec des personnes qui n'utilisent pas Skype habituellement. Et, bien entendu, cette fonction est entièrement gratuite comme le service. Une bonne idée – même si la fonction n'est pas réellement nouvelle – qui devrait populariser davantage Skype face à une concurrence de plus en plus rude.

Les avantages de Zoom: une plateforme très appréciée en entreprise, qui présente plusieurs avantages, et qui peut être utilisée gratuitement, donc par des particuliers. D'abord, il n'y a pas la moindre application à installer, tout s'effectue en ligne, via un simple navigateur Web – ce qui permet d'utiliser le service aussi bien sous Windows que sous macOS ou Linux. Ensuite, seul celui qui organise la réunion a besoin d'avoir un compte, les invités n’en ayant pas besoin pour participer. Enfin, ces réunions vidéo jusqu’à 100 participants. Le gros inconvénient des applications proposées par Twitter que ce soit depuis un navigateur Web en allant sur leur site ou via l’application mobile, est qu’il faut endurer pas mal de nuisances imposées par l’interface utilisateur et la politique commerciale de Twitter. Solution plus radicale, mais qui n’a pas reçu le blanc-seing de Twitter est de passer par une application Web tierce appelée Nitter. Avec Nitter, on accède à l’ensemble des tweets, mais il n’est pas possible depuis cette interface très sobre d’en publier. Il s’agit d’une application en lecture seule. En arrivant sur la page d’accueil de Nitter, on est invité à rechercher un nom d’utilisateur présent sur Twitter. Une fois que c’est fait, on accède à l’ensemble des publications et informations de cette personne : profil, nombre de followers, de following…, tweets publiés, médias (photos et vidéos) ainsi qu’un moteur de recherche pour trouver des tweets particuliers de cette personne. Il ne manque que les favoris pour que cela soit vraiment très intéressant.

There is a way to disable the saving of data. Users need to point their browsers to Google's Activity Controls web page. There they may turn off Web / App Activity, and Location History. Note that disabling the features may result in functionality loss; some Google services may provide less-personalized results when you pause the two features. Tip: You can pause all sorts of activity recorders on the site including the YouTube Watch and Search History as well. Check out our overview of Google's Activity Controls here. Pausing Web & App Activity, and Location History seems to be the only way that prevents Google from recording location-based information.

Overview: The following overview shows the workflow for a single input image of Sylvestor Stallone from the publicly available LFW dataset. Detect faces with a pre-trained models from dlib or OpenCV. Transform the face for the neural network. This repository uses dlib's real-time pose estimation with OpenCV's affine transformation to try to make the eyes and bottom lip appear in the same location on each image. Use a deep neural network to represent (or embed) the face on a 128-dimensional unit hypersphere. The embedding is a generic representation for anybody's face. Unlike other face representations, this embedding has the nice property that a larger distance between two face embeddings means that the faces are likely not of the same person. This property makes clustering, similarity detection, and classification tasks easier than other face recognition techniques where the Euclidean distance between features is not meaningful. Apply your favorite clustering or classification techniques to the features to complete your recognition task. See below for our examples for classification and similarity detection, including an online web demo.
